Cajun Dance Party

Cajun Dance Party

Are they the next untouchables? A youth-infused five-piece, Cajun Dance Party are about to take London - and beyond - by storm...

Cajun Dance Party have been together less than a year, but are already making big ripples in the pop pond, receiving national press and supporting Kings Of Leon on the British leg of their tour last year.

The five-piece, Daniel, Robbie, Max, Vicky and Will, hail from north London and together create a polished indie sound of a Kooks-like nature. They've got the hair too, peering into the face of success through thick, tendril fringes.

In the whirlwind of achievement the band have experienced over the last 12 months, we asked them to name a few of their finest moments:

"We had a gig at the Elbow Rooms," reveals vocalist and songwriter Danny Blumberg, "Outside there was the remains of a market, lots of neglected fruit and vegetables. Me and Max started collecting an assortment of these, then everyone on the street began helping us, it was a beautiful moment... we drew faces on them and decorated the back stage."

Going on to attack members of the press with smiling parsnips remains a special moment for Daniel, while guitarist Robbie Stern holds fond memories of his own, naming their Way Out West gig as the best.

A hard act to follow: CDP live

"Our fourth gig... (we were) touched to hear people singing our lyrics back to us for the very first time."

A short history like theirs bodes well for the future. Soon to be recorded is the band's number one song to cover, Del Shannon's classic Runaway. It will form another track to add to the four already featured on their website.
