2008 mascots for Beijing

2008 mascots for Beijing

2012 mascot

A group of characters are currently touring London as the official 2008 mascots for the Beijing Olympics. We ask, what should London's 2012 mascot be?

Fu Wa are touring the capital spreading the official 2008 Olympic message "One World, One Dream".

Landmarks visited include Piccadilly tube station, Millennium Bridge Park, South Bank, Trafalgar Square and Abbey Road.

Fu Wa are designed to represent the playful characteristics of five little children who form a circle of friends.

The head dresses of the quintet reflect the five elements of nature - sea, forest, fire, earth and sky.

So, BBC London is asking....what should the London 2012 mascot be?

Your suggestions so far

Two newts - possibly named Kenny and Livvy

Reasons:
1. The Mayor loves newts and the idea of the Olympics coming to London 2. With a great deal of luck and even more expense the waterways in the Olympic area might, by then, be suitable habitats 3. P....d as a newt will probably describe many of the supporters

How about using one of the 2 creatures from the City of London coat of arms, either a dragon or a unicorn and call him Union.

Mark - Barons Court, London

Lennie the London Lion, based on the Trafalgar Square Lions.
Griff

A White Elephant would be the most appropriate mascot for the London Olympic games...
Johnny Allan

The Mascot should be a  Hoody.

Jeff

Why not have a picture of Ken with his hand in somebody else’s pocket!

I think that a Beefeater should be used as the mascot as this is a worldwide symbol of London

How about a Toucan? Like the Olympics, a Toucan has a great big bill.
