Even young Anila didn’t know that one of her chit chats with her friends would develop into a scheme to turn her bald! The conversation had digressed from hairstyles to daring stunts and before she knew it she had decided to shave off her long curly mane for a good cause. It did take a while for people she knew to take her seriously though! Anila said: “My friends didn't think I would, so I guess it became a dare of sorts, which I couldn't resist. So it grew from there really... now I really think in the run up to Christmas I could potentially raise a lot of funds.” ![]() Anila before her charity challenge Anila wants to raise money for Habitat for Humanity, a charity that creates homes for those in need across the world. She wants to raise £1235. That's the cost to build a simple decent home in poverty stricken parts of the world. The Challenge took place in the Exchange Shopping Centre in Ilford. Friends, family and volunteers took part in cheering her on. Anila said the countdown to the first cut was the hardest part: “The fifteen minutes up to the were the longest minutes of my life....I was terrified.” Anila has raised about £900 pounds so far and hopes she’ll reach her target soon.
