Butterfly Stitch

The Butterfly Stitch

Pure pop genius. From north London. And now on 94.9's London Calling. Let's take a flight...

The Butterfly Stitch have been together for two years. Based in North London the band are fronted by Ian Bishop on vocals and  James Scott on guitar. They are backed up by the fine musicianship of Maddie Clarke (vocals), Kate Dornan (keyboards), Sarah Kaldor (cello) and Sean Wilmot (drums)

Describing themselves as pure pop, The Butterfly Stitch take their influences from Prefab Sprout, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Burt Bacharach, to name but a few.

If they were ever to cover a song then the Stones' Torn And Frayed, says James, would be the obvious choice. Although he adds that, "Sara and Kate will occasionally give a recital from their classical repertoire if they feel so moved."
