Help playing audio/video The best way to travel to Carnival this year is by tube and bus - and if your legs are up to it then walking is by the far the cheapest and crowd-free option! Road closuresThe Notting Hill Carnival procession passes along the following main roads - Westbourne Grove, Chepstow Avenue, Great Western Road, Kensal Road and Ladbroke Grove - all will be closed to traffic. Nearby streets will packed as well so there could be other road closures depending on the crowds. carnival travelParking? (are you kidding?!)There's really very little chance of parking anywhere near Notting Hill so do yourself a huge favour, leave the motor at home and make use of the extra public transport laid on just for you! Bus servicesBuses that normally serve the Carnival route will be on diversion. Two special express routes - 36X and 436X will be running between south London and the Carnival on both Carnival days. Numerous other bus routes will run close to the Carnival but will not enter the immediate Carnival area due to some road closures. The routes serving the area are; 7, 18, 23, 27, 28, 31, 36, 52, 70, 94, 148, 295, 316, 328, 390 and 452. Night routes will operate throughout Sunday and Monday night - N7, N15, N18, N28, N31, N52 & N207. Bus routes 6, 15, 187, 205, 220, 274, 414 and 436, all operate within a comfortable walking distance. Stations in the Carnival areaHolland ParkWill be exit only on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday Ladbroke GroveWill be closed on Sunday August 24 and Bank Monday August 25 Latimer RoadWill close on both days at 2330. Notting Hill GateOn Sunday and Monday 25 August there will be no interchange between the Central line and the District/Circle lines. The station will also be exit only between 11.00 and 19.00. The District and Circle lines won't stop at Notting Hill Gate between 11.00 and 19.00. Bayswater station or Paddington Hammersmith & City line station can be used as alternatives.
