BBC London 94.9 - On The Road The 'On the Road' tour sees the BBC London 94.9 team visit key Olympic boroughs to stage debates and ask Londoners their views on whether the capital looks and feels like a city ready for the Games. One year on since London won the bid we want to find out if we have adequate leisure facilities and if we can fund, train and inspire the sports stars of the future. And whether London is a healthy city.

BBC London 94.9's big tour kicked off in Greenwich at the end of April in the week leading up to the London Marathon. We visited Hackney for the Fusion East event in Victoria Park, Newham, to look at the changes that had occurred since the capital won the bid and the Hydroactive Women’s Challenge in Hyde Park. The On the Road tour also stopped off at Woolwich Market, Wembley Stadium, the Architecture Biennale at Smithfields, Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Lambeth, Ealing and the Brick Lane Festival. We worked with sports and leisure groups, newspapers and other parts of the BBC to find out what was going on in each of the boroughs we visited. As part of our campaign we've also been running a contest to find aspiring sports reporters aged between 18 to 22. Watch this space for details of who we've chosen so far.
