Reptiles London Calling band

Reptiles

Reptiles

Snake-like charmers Reptiles have won further acclaim by being made Gary Crowley's band of the week in our regular feature, London Calling. Hurrah!

South London / Birmingham based hip hop group Reptiles are celebrating becoming Gary Crowley's London Calling band of the week (01 April)

The band comprises of Remi Rough  (vocals), Juice 126 (vocals) and Joseph Barnes (music + production)

The featured track, Amour, is set for release in May and is just the next step in a two year string of critically acclaimed work from the group.

With influences ranging from Aphex Twin to Billie Holiday, Reptiles marry down tempo electronic breaks with soulful melodies to create the sort of sounds the music press can't ignore.

BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson, has dubbed them " fresh, atmospheric, English and not quite like anything else I've heard before." and Echoes promise you'll be "singing along like a school-girl after only the second listen".

Amour will be released through indie label Liquid Playthings in May, but you can hear it by clicking on the band's MySpace link in the right hand column of this page, or for more on Reptiles' previous work and news of their up and coming gigs check out the website www.liquidplaythings.com
