Thousands turn out to watch La Machine parade past Liverpool's iconic buildings
Thousands of people lined the streets of Liverpool to celebrate La Machine's fourth day in the city. Many of the crowd had travelled to the European City of Culture especially to catch a glimpse of the giant arachnid. They were rewarded with views of a waking "princesse" making her stately way past some of Liverpool's iconic buildings and some respite from the heavy rain of previous days.
Join us as the spider wakes from her slumbers outside the Cunard Building, and makes her way past the Royal Liver Building, Town Hall and Derby Square accompanied by her entourage of live music and strange atmospheric effects.
Follow all the latest La Machine action with our mobile correspondents.

good spire to seen in liverpool and watch and do
Loved every minute of it. It was very beautiful and very moving. Well done Liverpool European Capital of Culture. Looking forward to the last 3 months.
Absolutely wonderful sight not just the princess, but to see the streets so full. The atmosphere was wonderful. The only downfall was the safety aspect,I had my son in his pram, there where no barriers and the crowds even though they where well behaved, it got a bit worrying at times. All in all a wonderful weekend of events. Pity more people didnt turn up to the world firefighters the week before and give them a bit more support!!!!
La Machine's spider is the best thing I have ever seen.I have never had such a good time in town, without spending any money. Well done to our council.
Good to have shared it all with my grandchildren and the people of Liverpool. A memory forever.
