Sir Paul McCartney talks to Janice Long
On Sunday 1st June 2008, Paul McCartney played a stadium gig with a difference. With a little help from his friends The Zutons, The Kaiser Chiefs and others he rocked the famous turf at Anfield in one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Capital of Culture year.
Janice Long talked to Sir Paul McCartney ahead of the concert and asked him how he felt about returning to Liverpool, his Merseybeat roots and even which of the city's football teams he supports.

Superb work by the Beeb and what a gig!
We were there too! Any chance of releasing the whole 2 hours on DVD? Please!!!!!!!!
What a FAB concert!!!! We had the best time. I lurched from dancing like a demon to crying through MY LOVE, THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD and SOMETHING and then just standing in the middle of Anfield and staring at the people all singing and dancing in the stands. We jumped around to BACK IN THE USSR and swayed along to HEY JUDE and LET IT BE. It was well worth the journey over from Yorkshire - the long queuing in the rain - the painful feet and back!!! It was all forgotten the minute the music started! I want to do it all again!!! Many thanks LIVERPOOL - you're SOUND!
I Aways looked up to Sir Pail McCarney. even when he was in the Beattles.they where the best pop band for me in the 60,s.
my team in Scotland are Celtic but if i had to pick a English Team then I Would of Surported Liverpool they won the Chapiones of Europe 5 times still a British Recored. well Pail take care of your self all the best in the Future.
what a wonderful and nice man, he is a man I would be proud to be a friend to. he is a scouser who anyone of us espires to be.
