Out' course has helped over 300 young people through its 35 courses.
That's why the Liverpool Comedy Trust has started 'Stand Out Club'
- a stand up comedy club which gives under 18s a real-life stomping
ground to showcase their talents. The shows will be held on the first
Thursday of every month at The Picket in Hardman Street and will be
hosted by Liverpool 'Comedian of the Year' and Stand Out tutor Chris
nights at The Picket will have a dry bar serving non-alcoholic drinks,
but will be run in exactly the same way as any club on the national
comedy circuit. This gives the young artists the best experience
possible - the chance to hone and craft their material in front
of a tough audience!
will be a workshop before each Stand Out Club night for the performers
to run through new ideas with the tutors, and then it's showtime.
graduates from the course will get to perform, and a headline act
from the national circuit will close the show. Last year, 'headline'
was defined by the likes of Des Sharples, Lucy Porter, Seymour Mace
and Keith Carter.
first show will be on Thursday 5 February and will be headlined
by Keith Carter as Nige. Tickets for the night will be just £2
each or free if you have taken part in one of the Stand Out Courses.
