It's been nearly a year since Hive began its monthly experimental electronic music night at FACT and the response has been overwhelming.

Each event has had to turn away disappointed punters (sorry, only 50 tickets!) but those who managed to wedge their way in have been treated to some extraordinary acts, both known and unknown.

Highlights have included a superbly subtle set from Portable (sud electronic), the Futuresonic 6k rig overload and the introduction of a range of local laptopmeisters.

Apart from some Biennial shenanigans in September, hive will celebrate its first birthday in October with Apparat from Shitkatapult.

Next event on the 27th July will feature Team SHADETEk (SOZE.SHT and Zach Zizmore), who grew up in the same neighborhood in downtown Manhattan and started producing tracks together in 1999.

Their early releases on their own SHADETEk label along with recent releases on Kid606's Tigerbeat family of labels have been extremely well received around the world and have been featured on a wide range of discriminating DJs playlists including those of the Optimo crew, The Bug's Razor X Sound, 4Tet, Graham Massey, DJ /Rupture, Kid606 and Mary Anne Hobbs on the BBC's Breeze Block show.

These combined with their high energy live appearances at venues including Berlin's Döner Lounge and Labland, WMF, Tonic, Joe's Pub and Pianos in NYC, London's Wheels Instead of Hooves parties, Glasgow's Optimo and the Panoptica festival in Belgium have contributed to their reputations as one of the most exciting crews in the current electronica landscape.

The cover art for Burnerism is a collage by NYC street artist Swoon who has been creating a stir in the international art world with her unique and beautiful approach to graffiti in the form of intricate and delicate paper cutouts, glued up in cities around the world.

Swoon, along with TEAM SHADETEk is a founding member of the Change Agent art gang, a group of young artists with common aesthetics arising from many aspects of youth street culture. This is not the first time they have collaborated, Swoon having made 300 hand made covers for SHADETEk's SHT004: Swoon EP along with collaborating with Soze on a pair of home made videos for two tracks from the same record.

These videos and more from Swoon, SHADETEk and the rest of the Change Agent gang can be seen at www.WeAreChangeAgent.com.
