Renowned for their explosive and technically brilliant live performances, this tour will give Manchester-based band 'Amplifier' their first opportunity to play a full-length set around the UK.

We spoke to drummer Matt Brobin about the upcoming tour and their recent success in the press:

"People seem to get what we're doing" he says, "our first album and the response has been incredible. We just can't wait to get out there!"

The band have been cranking their trusty amps for a good five years now, starting out in Manchester venues like The Roadhouse and The Night and Day, they soon caught the attention of the oft-idolised 'Music For Nations' record company.

"We're always rehearsing and playing" says Matt, "usually all-night jamming sessions or working on new material. We've built up a large collection of gear now, so we have lots of amps and lots of different sounds."

Inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Soundgarden and Pink Floyd, the band have also spent a lot of time hanging around drum and bass clubs and try to imbue their performances with a similar energy and euphoria.

"We just played Donnington on the Metal Hammer tour" claims Matt, "it was awesome. Our new single 'Panzer' has just been played by Bruce Dickinson on BBC 6 and we're putting it out as download only - basically just to get it out to people as fast as possible."

When asked about the future of the band, Matt is humble and optimistic:

"We'd like to get around the world" he says, "it's all we've ever done..it's what we told the career advisor we wanted to do when we were at school! We feel very lucky that we're having some success."
