Pop Overthrow will be at the Cavern |

Thousands
of music fans from around the UK are set to decend on Liverpool as
International Pop Overthrow comes to the Cavern. |

International
Pop Overthrow is a pop festival that made it's name in the United
States spending six years in Los Angeles and two years in New York
and Chicago. More than eighty pop artists will feature in IPO's first
visit to Liverpool.
The organisers aim to give bands the chance to play their music live
in a festival atmosphere and to raise the profile of pop music.
From October 13th-19th International Pop Overthrow will take over
Liverpool's Cavern Club with performances from International and UK
artists. Artists performing in Liverpool include The Scooters, Billy
Kinsley, Captain Soul, and The Jetset. Also appearing are Liverpool’s
own The Suns, Reece, and The Amazing Kappa!
On Thursday, October 16 Merseybeats and Liverpool Express member Billy
Kinsley will give a presentation including reminiscences about his
appearances at The Cavern.
Now being touted as the largest music festival of its kind, IPO celebrates
pop music from the Beatles while also focusing on the vast amount
of music being made today by those artists who rely on melodic songcraft
to express their musical tastes. |
