My Memory

H. Lloyd and J Madigan

A letter was sent to Radio Merseyside’s A Team by a gentleman called Harry Lloyd who was trying to search for an old friend of his.

The A Team managed to contact the family of Jim Madigan so hopefully the old shipmates should be able to meet up in the future.

If you would like to contact any old friends you can contact the A Team, who may be able to help you:

From Harry Lloyd:

I am trying to contact an old shipmate of mine. His name is Jim Madigan and he lived in Widnes. I was with him from 1943 – 1944.

We were on HMS Bristol, HMS Collingwood & HMS Shrapnel together, I would like to see him before I drop off the perch! And we are both in our late 70’s so please hurry up!

I always remember the Irish songs he sang in the pubs, Galway Bay was is favourite. I don’t think he’d even been to the Emerald Isle but his parents were pure Irish.

Thank You

H. Lloyd
