PROJECT NEPTUNE

Project Neptune is run by the Mersey Inshore Rescue Service. It’s been operating since l986, and is aimed at young people who are facing dis- advantage, and are at risk of not fulfilling their own life potential.

Often failed by mainstream education, perhaps with difficult home circumstances or other problems, Neptune helps by providing an environment where the young participants can succeed.

They undertake Fast Rescue Craft training, and First aid, approved to Royal Yachting Association standards, working alongside trained professionals, handling high tech equipment - and learning how to tie knots! This project develops team working and leadership skills, as well as the chance to experience high levels of excitement.
