Water Fountain

A pencil drawing of the water fountain
The fountain was built by Richard Meade.
  • There is a fountain in the centre of West Derby Village.
  • It was commissioned many years ago by Richard Meade so that the village people could have a drink of water whenever they liked.
  • There is a lamp on the top of the fountain. Years ago the lamp was lit at night.
  • It is still standing in 2002.

Engraved on the fountain are these words:

Water is Best

We think it is a reminder that water is better than alcohol.

By Jessica, Rebecca, Anna.
