West Derby Cottages

Red brick cottage
This cottage was built in 1861 and is made of red brick

The Yeoman’s cottage is in West Derby and Blackmoor Park junior school went to find out more.

  • The cottages were built in 1861 and they are made with red brick and a lovely Victorian brickwork design.
  • On the cottages above the windows, the Molyneaux cross is stationed and on the drainpipes is a Sefton marking.
  • The cottages are placed just outside of Croxteth Park West Derby village along Town Row.

The Yeoman's cottage was built of sandstone
  • The number of the Yeoman’s cottage is 10.
  • The Yeoman’s cottage is where the Yeoman lived being the deputy of the village when the Earl of Sefton was in charge.
  • The Yeoman’s cottage was built in the early 1800 The Yeoman’s cottage is built of sandstone because he was an important person.
  • The cottage was built exactly next to the stocks monument and was opposite the Courthouse.
