Croxteth Farm
Home Farm

The farm was so famous, that it was visited by King Edward VII, when he was Prince of Wales.

On the farm in 1874 there were:

  • 72 Pigs
  • 98 Cattle
  • 1 Bull
  • 16 Horses
  • 334 Sheep
  • 3 rams
  • 113 Cocks and Hens
  • 15 Ducks
  • 15 Geese
  • 6 Turkeys
Sheep, sheep and more sheep

It was built as a 'model farm'.
That meant the design and layout of the buildings made them perfect for their job and worth copying.

Today the farm houses a wide variety of animals which you can go and see.
