All members of staff have been on duty from 9am till 12.45pm: crisis evacuation work.

Monday August 28th, 1939
All members of staff have been on duty all day - no attendance registration. Scholars being evacuated have been at school rehearsing evacuation routines.
Staff have given particulars to parents wishing for the same. Many parents have refused the Government plans for evacuation.

We reopened today in the Dovedale Rd temporary school premises as the Auxiliary Fire Service are in possession of our newly renovated Morrison Junior Girls' building.
