The
children of Year 5 in Kingsley Community School and St Silas Church
of England Primary had the chance to work with internationally renowned
digital artist Fiona Hawthorne and some clever software. Armed with
some mirrors they created amazing self portraits in less than an
hour.
Fiona
has worked with children before, notably in creating artwork for
the Notting Hill Carnival. She finds the children respond really
well to the digital painting experience, not least because no matter
how much you experiment with colour you dont end up
with a sludge toned masterpiece.
Creating
a masterpiece
You
can see the exhibition from Saturday October 25th at the Museum
of Liverpool Life or you can start your own digital art collection
by downloading their work now and setting it as your pc wallpaper.
You can even send an e-card
of the four winning designs to a friend.
So
forget Tracys unmade bed, Damiens latest chopped up
farmyard victim or even Da Vincis doodles. If you want to
see real art at the cutting edge of technology then Year
5 is where its coming from and here
is where its at.
