  • The Queen Victoria Monument in Derby Square, which will be transformed into a temporary hotel, 'The Villa Victoria'

  • In Williamson Square a giant screen will allow passers-by to shadow themselves against huge projected figures

  • The top floor of St John's Market will become a dazzling gallery space for 60 artists

  • Wolstenholme Square will become home to a new permanent sculpture of large coloured spheres called... Penelope!

Around 250,000 people are expected to see a Biennial ''event'' which includes work by artists from every continent on the planet.

Liverpool Biennial is founded on a unique model of partnership between Tate Liverpool, FACT, the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology, Bluecoat Arts Centre, National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside and New Contemporaries.
