Dead Cities are well experienced in the field, being comprised of other Liverpool bands from past and present. Their influences cover a wide array of music, from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin, Elliot Smith, Jeffery Lewis, Neil Young and Radiohead to name a few. It is fair to say that their taste in music has lead to a unique and intriguing sound. ![]() Dead Cities recording With each member having no set role in the band, their freedom has been encapsulated in their music. Liverpool Sound City described them as ‘rough diamonds that don't need polishing’ with The Metro following in similar stead commenting that they are ‘so accomplished you can't help but like them.’ They are clearly no strangers to compliments. Help playing audio/video Neither are they strangers to exposure, their following on their Myspace and Facebook pages summarises their rising popularity, most probably due to their performances at St Brides Church and the View Two Gallery alongside opening the Mellowtone Show at the exclusive Studio 2 venue as part of the Parr Street Studios complex for Liverpool SoundCity 2009. Dead Cities music style contains a more poetic, toned and ‘stripped back’ tone compared to their previous, louder groups. Their intensity is provided in their powerful, heartfelt lyrics and well conceived melodies.
