Danny Start has never really thought of himself as nostalgic but his walk to work takes him through a landscape that holds many memories for him. The area around Everton Brow has changed dramatically since Danny was a child, the tenements and cobbled streets have long since disappeared to be replaced by an urban park. Danny says that the area is where his soul, heart and history are, and he can still picture the layout of streets of brick and concrete that once stretched across the hillside. Today the area is grassed over and an area of tranquility close to the city centre and for Danny its a daily source of inspiration. Danny recently won the Writer's Award at the 2008 DaDaAwards, organised by North West Disability Arts Forum (NWDAF).
