It’s an amusing sight: 6,000 Scouse Santas streaming through the streets of Liverpool just weeks before Christmas.

Help raise money for a good cause.

Santa Dash is an annual 5k fun run to raise money for charities at this special time of year, the 2008 event will take place on Sunday 7 December.

In 2007, more than 6,000 Santas made Santa Dash the most popular running event in town.

People of all ages, shapes and sizes donned the famous red suit and took a route through Liverpool city centre, past many iconic monuments, for a good cause.

There was one blot on the landscape for the 2007 event – the news that the Las Vegas Great Santa Run managed to attract just over 7,000 Santas!

For Santa Dash 08 Liverpool is aiming to break Las Vegas world record and wants as many budding St Nicks as possible to download an application form and take part!

Organised by Run Liverpool the Radio Merseyside Charitable Trust will be one of the beneficiaries from the run.

Santa Dash 08 takes place Sunday 7 December, 2008. Start time is 9.30am. The entry fee is £15 which includes a Santa suit. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, goody bag and t-shirt.
