Music Week 2007: bigger than ever.

Liverpool Music Week 2007

This year, Liverpool Music Week brings together a line-up of world class artists and exciting new talent to venues across Liverpool. November 30 to December 9, 2007, offers a 10-day, jam-packed itinerary of live music.

This year, Liverpool Music Week starts November 30th and ends December 9th. The festival will stage over 200 bands across 15 venues on Merseyside. Through a combination of ticketed and free shows, gigs will take place at such venues as  Aintree Pavillion, Bumper, Philarmonic Hall, Carling Academy, Nation, Zanzibar, The Metropolitan, Korova, Parr Street Studios, Magnet, Barfly, Static Gallery, Bar Hannah, Bar Fresa, FACT, Dragon, and Cotton Club.

Crowd

Music Week crowds enjoy the festival

Music Week is now the UK’s largest indoor winter festival event and was founded by Liverpool promoter Mike Deane in 2003. Since it began, Liverpool Music Week has grown from a single venue venture into a festival that has attracted over 65,000 people, and helped break artists such as The Wombats, Hot Club de Paris & Eugene McGuinness. Mike and his team recently partnered with  Cream CEO James Barton: "We've added new dimensions to the festival this year to accommodate bringing more high profile artists to the city" says Mike, "joining forces with Cream has burst open doors that we have been knocking on politely for years."

Kaiser Chiefs

The Kaiser Chiefs will perform.

Movers and shakers

The unique underlining ethos behind Liverpool Music Week is to attract some of the UK’s biggest artists to Liverpool and also give fresh and emerging new talent a platform to perform. This year will see performances by Kaiser Chiefs, Hard Fi, Madness, The Chemical Brothers, Pendulum, Good Shoes, The Bees, New Young Pony Club, Simian Mobile Disco (Live), Candie Payne, The Rascals, The Suzukis, Tiger Picks, Lightspeed Champion, Hot Club De Paris, Go Faster, John Kennedy, James Yorkston and Friendly Fires among others.

As well as staging live music events, Liverpool Music Week will also be running a series of panels and seminars featuring some of the UK’s music industry movers and shakers who will come together to discuss issues and offer advice and support to artists and individuals with a desire to enter the music industry.
