St Helen’s captain Paul Sculthorpe is urging his side to use all their experience against Hull in this weekend’s Super League Grand final at Old Trafford. The Saints captain, who will miss the match through injury, is confident his team will have what it takes if they hold their nerve. “Obviously it’s going to be a great atmosphere. There’s going to be tremendous support and I’m sure there will be plenty of noise and I think that is when you’ve got to revert to doing what you’ve done in training throughout the season. Speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside Sculthorpe said that it was crucial to keep focused “You can’t let those sort of things affect you. You’ve just got to go about your business as usual.” Sean Long St Helens scrum half Sean Long believes his team are in sight of glory “We’ve got two trophies. But we know it is going to be tough. I think we should just go out there and enjoy ourselves.”

St Helens recently beat Hull 12-8 and Long knows they will offer a stiff challenge “Hull are a quality team. They deserved to finish second and I thought if they produce a performance like they did against us when we played them they should make it and they did. “We know we’re in for a tough game and it is going to be a little bit different. We’re going to have to play well to beat them. “I think what you will see will be two teams playing a lot better football than we did the other week.” Listen to live coverage of St Helens v Hull on BBC Radio Merseyside 1485AM and live on this website with full commentary from 6pm on Saturday 14th October. |
