We See Foxes were formed in Liverpool 2003. Founding members Will Rowe (guitar), Paul Fox (lead vocals, percussion) and Adam Mokhtar (bass, backing vocals) met through the Liverpool underground music scene. They played with a succession of drummers until the band stabilised around Alex Wright, a superb young drummer from Manchester. Listen to a track: Over the past 12 months WSF has established itself as an outstanding live act through regular gigs in Liverpool (the Barfly, Zanzibar, Academy and other venues) and Manchester (Night ‘N’ Day, Life Café). Their prolific song writing over this period has enabled them to hone their set, often radically rearranging old favorites; no filler is a rule.

Their influences include The Doors, The Charlatans, Sonic Youth, The Stone Roses, The Verve, Mudhoney and The Velvet Underground. Live and on record, WSF are driven by a tight and funky rhythm section; a sulphurous, thick lead guitar sound, and Paul Fox’s voice: strong, passionate, proud and reminiscent of early British beat band leaders and Little Richard. Their songs are inventive, ranging from dreamy psychedelia to punk and back. Extensive practice and playing has cut out the fat and the pretension. Live on stage, they pull rooms apart.. Live Dates: Wednesday 12th July - The Bumper, Hardman street, Liverpool (free entry).
