St Helens North

Dave Watts held his seat in St Helens with a healthy 13,962 majority. The Liberal Democrats increased their share of the vote by almost 4%. Dave Watts a former local council leader has held the St Helens Nort seat since 1997 after succeeding the former chair of the Parliamentary Labour Party, John Evans.

St Helens South

Controversially selected for this safe Labour seat in 2001, Sean Woodward has increased his share of the vote to 19,345. His majority has increased slightly from 8,985 to 9,309 although this is still well short of the 23,739 majority enjoyed by his predecessor.

Warrington North

Helen Jones retains her seat in Warrington North but her share of the vote had fallen by over 8%, although the majority is still comfortable at 12,204. Even Roy Jenkins was unable to defeat Labour in this traditionally safe seat.

Warrington South

Helen Southworth held on to her seat in Warrington South but as across most of the country Labour's majority fell while the Liberal Democrats share of the vote increased.
