This
section uncovers
the innovative ideas that made Liverpool a leading city of the times.
Included are the discovery of the 'transit of Venus across the sun',
the worlds first 'cast-iron church' to be built and the worlds first
'Medical Officer of Health'. Even we were surprised by some of the
pioneering advancements to come out of Liverpool!
