The
Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth 2 made a rare visit to Liverpool on Bank
Holiday Monday as part of a British Isles cruise.

Crowd
gathered on the Mersey waterfront to see the famous QE2 liner as she
made a day long stopover in Liverpool.
The ship moored in the centre of the river opposite the Pier Head
on her first voyage since an £11 million refit. Mersey Ferries
ran a special service taking the luxury liners passengers and crew
ashore to visit local attractions.

The QE2
was the flagship of the Cunard Line for over 30 years until the launch
of the Queen Mary 2. The QE2 made her maiden voyage in 1969, she is
one of the largest passenger vessels afloat with a top speed of 32.5
knots. The
QE2 is 963 feet long and 70,327 tons.
