FACTS

Built by Richard Alwyn in the 1430's

Ayscoughfee Hall is a restored 1420's Manor House on the banks of the River Welland

There are also 5 acres of walled gardens and Yew Tree walks

Ayscoughfee Hall, now a museum and tourist information centre, has a history dating back to early medieval times. In the past, staff at the Hall have reported feeling a ghostly presence around the rooms and galleries, which used to be home to the late Maurice Johnson and his family.

The legend of the “White Lady”, who walks the floors of the Hall, intrigued David, a ghost sceptic. He says, “My scepticism of the paranormal in general, led my colleges to challenge me to stay the night in one of Spalding's reputedly haunted buildings. Where better than Ayscoughfee Hall on All Hallows Eve when the spirits are said to roam free?"

"I'll be bringing along some state of the art ghost hunting equipment that will be placed around the Hall, and of course you can follow my findings on the website.”

And you can help too! Throughout the night, the council’s website at will be broadcasting updated information from the Hall including images from web cams, temperature & sound monitoring equipment and David’s journal.

You can even email David via the website if you spot anything lurking in the shadows.
