|
| | Final-year
Graphic Design student Rebecca Turner, who is due to graduate in September, entered
the Creative and Cultural Skills Visual Identity Competition back in March.
Rebecca
has won £1,000 and a two-week work experience placement at The Team brand
communications agency in London. The runners up were featured in an online gallery.
Creative
and Cultural Skills spokeswoman Lucy Chudley said: "We didn't include Rebecca's
entry as part of the online gallery as we didn't want to give away our new look
identity until the launch." Creative and Cultural Skills is the latest
addition to the 25 industry-specific sector skills councils backed by the Government,
which make up the new 'Skills for Business' network.
Commenting on Rebecca's
design, Lucy said, "It was selected as the winning entry not only because
it was clear she had read and understood the brief, but also because she had researched
the organisation's values which were incorporated into her design.
"Her
spirograph concept and colour palette had eight elements to represent the eight
different sectors which Creative and Cultural Skills covers. The new identity
has been used on the corporate stationery, launch brochure and website."
Rebecca's
entry was unanimously voted the winner by the panel of judges which included David
Pocknell, Executive Creative Director, Conran Design Group; Kate Stanners, Executive
Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi; and Lynn Modaberi, Head of Design, Science
Museum.
