The
exhibition, which is to take place at the end of the month, will
showcase the collections of the final year students.
Students including 23 year-old Amy Thornalley, and 22 year-old Donna
Marie Leaf, have put together 40 designs each, before producing
six outfits ready for the fashion event.

Donna-Marie
has plans to move to York, once graduated to begin work at Droopy
and Browns, a uniquely British boutique, were one seamstress produces
each garment.
For her final collection Donna-Marie has based her designs on Burberry,
I have kept with the traditional Burberry theme, whilst at
the same time incorporating influences from Africa.

Amy,
will be working in Lincoln, once she has finished her studies. After
securing a designing job in the Bailgate area of town, at Rags Bridal
Courture.
Each
student has incorporated a different theme into their work, 26 year-old
Ashley Johnson spent time last summer in Italy, which subsequently
inspired his theme of Connected for the exhibition.

Students
have also taken inspiration from Senior Lecturer of fashion studies,
Adrian Glover, who worked in London, for the 1998-99 season,
creating the European shirt collection for Christian Dior.
Commenting on the work of the students, Adrian said, There
is such diversity and talent amongst the students, the static exhibition
is definitely going to have a sexy feel to it.
Adrian has also had the opportunity to work at the Southern Universities
of Kent and Southampton to work at the Southern, but prefers the
surroundings of Lincoln University, where the students are allowed
to mould their own styles.

On
why the students decided on a static exhibition, instead of a fashion
show, student representative, Anne Robart-Morgan said, "A fashion
show would be far to costly, and too much attention would be paid
to the event itself, and the models, rather than the actual work
of the students."
The students have had to fund the work themselves, and the University
has doubled any money raised by the students for the exhibition.
