Also at 13, & to
earn extra money, she used to be an usherette at the Astra RAF Cinema, for the
princely sum of 2 shillings a night, plus all the films she could see! After
spending time through the years as vocalist with various groups, there was a spell

musical vein continued with the opening, in partnership with her husband, of a
music shop in the centre of Lincoln, a venture they ran successfully for over
20 years. During
those years, in 1992 local independent radio came to Lincolnshire, & Veronica
was approached to be their specialist music presenter, hosting shows right across
Lincolnshire & Yorkshire. A
move to BBC Radio Lincolnshire in 2000 followed, with the birth of a couple of
new specialist music shows, (50’s & Country). The move also gave her the chance
to get involved with BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Gold appeal, by organising & appearing
on the stations regular "Real Variety Shows", held at Lincoln’s wonderful Theatre
Royal. Other
BBC career highlights include singing with the RAF Cranwell Regiment & Swing Wing
bands. FACT
