This included several
months working for the company in Long Beach, California, USA.
In his spare time Melvyn became very involved in the local Hospital Radio Station
in Ipswich which eventually lead to him presenting evening and weekend programmes
on the local commercial radio station Radio Orwell. He
continued to work in commercial radio in Suffolk until moving to BBC Radio Lincolnshire
in 1991. Outside
of work Melvyn enjoys a game of squash, gardening and cheering on his boys Andrew
and William in their sporting activities. FACT
