Les
Sheehan has been with BBC Radio Lincolnshire from Day 1 in November 1980 - in
fact he joined the station from BBC World Service in July of that year and was
involved in the Station's launch.
Since then he
has presented just about every programme on the station and has also worked at
Radio Devon, Oxford, Berkshire and spent some time in the BBC's Training Unit.
Highlights
of his time at Radio Lincolnshire include: Outside Broadcasts from Mablethorpe
and Skegness and covering the Falklands Conflict. He says it seems strange looking
back at the Falklands period now. We were still operating with typewriters, and
one teleprinter provided our National News - how things have changed!
Computers
these days bring us the news as fast as the reporters can write it. Les is now
part of the Station`s Management Team looking after Weekend Programmes.
