He's had many jobs including a farm worker, vacuum cleaner salesman and wine tester and is known to entertain people in pubs with his knowledge of animal husbandry and the suction capacity of some of the latest models of carpet cleaners.

His first taste of broadcasting was at hospital radio where he helped people nod off on a Sunday afternoon with his own mix of 60 hits and witty jokes.

When not at work he makes puppets from off cuts of wood and egg boxes. In the kitchen he is a genius and in the workshop a master of the art of motorcycle maintenance.

In the bedroom is an artful and considerate lover.

Children like him and he is kind to small animals.
