MATCH REPORT

Report by Jonathan Clegg
Rushcliffe Storm to Victory.

Rushcliffe's youngest squad had a brilliant start to their season with a 7-2 victory in their game against fierce rivals Lincoln Griffins.

The first 20 minutes were full of exciting play resulting in a hat trick for Kirstie Moffat. The Rushcliffe players soon began to show all the skills that they have been practising and have really starting to gel together as a team.

They managed to keep the opposition at bay for the rest of the first half with some great saves from the goal keeper, Amelia Stockwell. The Grantham based team saw some exciting runs at goal from Zoe Frisby, Jessica Rollinson Sarah Frisby and Kirstie again, but the half finished with a well taken goal from Kayleigh Odams, playing in her debut match.

The second half saw Rushcliffe rise to 6 goals, with a first for Taylor Harrison followed quickly by another by Roxy Taylor.

Whilst the opposition managed to pull back 2 goals in succession despite some great defending by Megan Foster, Rushcliffe were not to be put down by this and kept pushing hard, to be rewarded with goal number 7 from Roxy Taylor in the dying minutes.

Rushcliffe team Amelia Stockwell, Megan Foster, Jessica Rollinson, Taylor Harrison, Kayleigh Odams, Roxy Taylor, Kirstie Moffat, Lisa Nix, Sarah Frisby, Zoe Frisby & Natalie Sellars.
