Reg Meuross, once quoted as having 'the best tenor voice this side of the Atlantic', is a professional folk singer/songwriter and he's been gracing our county recently with his unique musical storytelling. Despite being raised listening to the pop sensations of the time, it is made very clear when talking to him that folk music is his true passion. Despite the awful weather that day, Reg came into the BBC Radio Lincolnshire studio with a smile on his face and his guitar in hand. ![]() Picture by Richard Faulks Reg joined BBC Presenter Maria Richmond on her show for a chat about everything folk and music orientated, he then played a selection of music accompanied by the supremely talented Karen Tweed (piano accordionist). He played two songs from his critically acclaimed album 'Dragonfly' (championed by BBC Radio 2s Mike Harding). Their performances of 'Lizzie Loved a Highway Man' and 'William Brewster Dreams of America' the story of the original Pilgrim Father's flight to The New World, with his children Patience, Fear, Love, Wrassling & John rooted us all to the spot in the studio by Reg's captivating words and their joint musicianship. Later, Reg joined me for an interview. He was an extremely relaxed and natural talker and made the interview seem like a breeze. We talked about his passion for music and his perfomances, both past and present. ![]() Megan interviews Reg Meuross Watch the videoFollowing Reg's interview with BBC Lincolnshire Presenter Maria Richmond he's whisked away to chat with LYJA's Megan about music, Lincolnshire and fulfilling his dream this year by playing at The Royal Albert Hall.
