Young Americans Get Gainsborough Dancing

Two hundred kids from 15 schools took part in dance, music and drama workshops when The Young Americans came to town.

The Young Americans were founded 50 years ago in Hollywood, California - with the aim of providing talented Young American student performers with education in music, dance, performance and teaching.

Part of this training involves international outreach projects, and one of those projects has been taking place at The Trent Valley Academy in Gainsborough. The school has strong links with the Young Americans and they have visited the school several times over the years with their unique brand of teaching.

Nearly 200 students aged between 8 and 20 from 15 different schools came along to learn new skills and take part in workshops with the Young Americans. The three day workshop was rounded off with a performance from the students and the Americans for family and friends of the children.
