He was joined as co-driver by Tom Ferrier, both racing for the first time for the team.
The qualifying sessions on Saturday were held in damp and wet conditions which made qualifying difficult on the challenging full Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, but Glew/Ferrier qualified in 8th (3rd in class) and 11th (4th in class) for the two weekend races.
After a disappointing finish in the Saturday race (5th in class) Glew and Ferrier were determined to show the quality of their driving to prove to the team, that they had made the right decision to offer them a drive.

With Glew at the wheel for the opening stint he went about battling with the two Trackspeed Porsche’s and the Marcos. By lap 10 Glew had battled up to 10th place (3rd in class) on was right on the back bumper on the two cars ahead in class. By the time the driver change took place after 25 minutes, Glew had the car in second place.
For the remainder of the race Ferrier was in an extremely close battle with two other similar Porsche 996 GT3 cars, with positions switching between them. On the last lap Ferrier managed to take the lead which he held to the chequered flag.
An ecstatic Glew and his Motorbase Performance team were over the moon with their hard fought win.
After the race Glew said "I am ecstatic to have finally won my first race and enjoyed the class battle during my stint. Tom Ferrier did a great job to finish off the job and get the lead and victory on the final lap of a 1 hour race. I would like to thank the Motorbase Performance team and my personal sponsors DAS & STMC"
Tom Ferrier also commented "Excellent to be up here, we had a bit of a disappointing race yesterday so to win it today was exceptional. It was an incredibly close race, Phil Glew did all the hard work really getting us up to second. It was just close from then on. I missed a gear on one lap, which dropped me to third, but it all worked out on the last lap, a pretty exciting finish."
