Dominic Lesniewski (University of Lincoln) put in another superb performance on the race track to take pole position, fastest lap and the race win in the latest round of the Matador Powertec Radical Challenge. Held at Mallory Park, Leicestershire, Dominic arrived for Race 8 to be greeted by pouring rain. A full wet set up was prepared for the morning qualifying session in which he comfortably took pole position by over one second. By the start of the afternoon’s race the skies had cleared and the track began to dry leading to a few alterations on the car set up. Taking up pole position, Dominic found the biggest challenge was literally in front of him. "The way the circuit was drying unevenly meant there was a big wet patch directly in front of me!" said Dominic afterwards. "I knew that I would have to be very vigilant at the start not to let the puddle get me and as such lost two places as the lights went out" Despite dropping back to third, Dominic was up into 2nd by the first corner and by lap two had taken the lead and began to eke out a strong margin. Dominic took the win by a superb twelve seconds! "I am lost for words" Dominic commented afterwards. "Obviously very happy to take the win, my third win in a row. I've now won six of the eight races. The car is running very well and many thanks go to TJ Motorsport for that, we plan on keeping this winning streak going!" |
