DJ Jason Herd at the Cell for Siren

A famous club DJ made a welcome appearance at one of Lincolnshire's new clubs. DJ Jason Herd was at 'The Cell' in lincoln on Bank Holiday Monday.

He was here to help out a third year university student with his dissertation. But the unique gig was nearly postponed due to low turn out numbers.

Jason is a finalist in the 2005 House Music Awards and producer of hit single 'I Just Can't Get Enough'. He is no stranger to playing in Ibiza, Pasha and CreamFields UK so his appearance in Lincolnshire was somewhat of a rarity.

This is why Sammo Nigh, saw him as the perfect candidate to help raise the profile Lincoln University’s radio station, Siren FM.

Broadcast live on Siren in Sammo's weekly 'We Love House Music Slot', he hoped the DJ’s big name would clue more Lincoln locals into Siren’s existence. After a slow start that’s exactly what happened. With a mixture of fast paced dance and dirty house music it soon got party goers dancing and making the most out of their bank holiday weekend.

Some house lovers even got down to teaching the rest of the crowd some funky dance moves which involved a lot of hopping on one foot!

There were two rooms with Jason Hurd playing upstairs and downstairs The Disco King kept the eclectic feelings alive with the strangest set I have heard in a long while! It  was reminiscent of Ross from Friends attempts with a keyboard and synthesizer!

Siren FM will have a full license in February 2007 where it will serve the university students and the public.
