Presenters - WeekendYou are in: Lincolnshire > BBC Radio Lincolnshire > Presenters - Weekend > Sue Taylor ![]() Sue TaylorON AIR Saturday and Sunday morning from 9am Sue Taylor was born in Lincoln and has lived in the county ever since. She did once travel to Newark to see what it was like in another part of the country...but she didn't fancy it and made a hasty retreat back up the A46!
If you ask Sue's Mum, Betty, she'd tell you that young Susan started her radio career at the tender age of 11. She would ring BBC Radio Lincolnshire to take part in competitions. Don't tell anyone but her favourite was Battleships with Chris Jones! Sue thought working on the radio seemed liked a good job - being paid to talk! Her first chance to broadcast as part of the team at BBC Radio Lincolnshire came in 1987 when she joined the station's youth programme 'Livewire' - a programme which also started the career of Drivetime's William Wright. Sue has spent more than half her life working at BBC Radio Lincolnshire and during that time she's travelled all over the county as our radio car reporter. One of her memorable, if not a little scary moments, was an outside broadcast on a very windy day dangling from a rope at the top of the Observatory Tower at Lincoln Castle, reporting from a charity abseil. ![]() Todd Carty with Sue in the studio Sue met her husband Jonathan at BBC Radio Lincolnshire when he worked for the station as a journalist. Sue has two children, Frankie who was born in 2003 and Stella who made an early Sunday morning appearance in January 2006. Stella's arrival five weeks early, took everyone by surprise. Sue should have been presenting the Sunday Breakfast Show that morning, but had to call on the help of colleague Les Sheehan to take over the programme at the last moment. If she had any, Sue would spend her spare time being a lady who lunches and having expensive massages, manicures and hairdos! Instead....she's changing nappies, pushing buggies and serving up jelly and ice cream to very energetic toddlers...but she wouldn't have it any other way!! Hear Sue from 9am on Saturday and Sunday. last updated: 23/04/2008 at 12:57 You are in: Lincolnshire > BBC Radio Lincolnshire > Presenters - Weekend > Sue Taylor |
