Great steaks but the beer is rubbish in Oklahoma!
By Lee Mallin.
Lee Mallin used to work in chocolate, now he enjoys the sunshine and steaks of Oklahoma, but not the beer!
Please pinpoint your location:
84 miles west of Tulsa, 65 miles north of Oklahoma City in a small town called Perry, Oklahoma.
How long have you lived there?
I have lived here since April 2002.
What did you do in Lincolnshire?
I lived in Friskney for 7 years, commuting to work for the famous chocolate maker in Bournville!
Why did you move?
I met my wife Debbie on the internet and moved to Oklahoma. We married in July 2002.
What do you do now?
I am a county assessor, assessing and appraising property for tax. My interests include computing and catching up with the news and stories from home.
What is your favourite thing about where you live now?
The weather, we don't get much rain so it is easy to plan days out. The food is great and Oklahoma is the steak capital of America.
What do you miss about Lincolnshire?
Friends, the sea air and the beer - the beer in Oklahoma is not up to standard! Most of all, I miss my family.
