ExpatsYou are in: Lincolnshire > People > Expats > St Lucia ![]() St Lucia St LuciaBy Kierron Dolby. Island hopping in the Caribbean; flying to America. Could this be paradise? Almost, but Kierron really misses a decent pint in a decent pub.
Help playing audio/video What did you do in Lincolnshire?I was born and bred in Lincoln; many members of my family still live in Lincoln. In 1978 I founded CHS Building Services Limited, which is still fully operational under the direction of David Sheldrake and the rest of the team, most of whom have been with the company since it was founded. I have been involved with the Lincoln Sportsman's Club since it started in 1978. As chairman for 15 years, then 3 years ago I was honoured with the president's position. Why did you move?My first connection with St Lucia was work-related; I worked on plans for a new development on the Island. Later I formed my present company (DCG Properties Ltd) which is involved in developing hotels and properties on St Lucia. What do you do now?We are currently working on a major development on the Island. This includes an eighteen-hole golf course bearing the design signature of Greg Norman. What is your favourite thing about where you live now?The scenery, weather and the people. What do you miss about Lincolnshire? My family: Mum & Dad (Alf & Betty), my daughter Claire, her husband Paul and the twins (18 months old Alexander & Anya). My brothers Leigh & Gary. A decent pint in a decent pub! If only we had a decent pub here on St Lucia, it truly would be paradise... And of course I really miss listening to a decent local radio station. (BBC Radio Lincolnshire). At least I can listen online now! last updated: 06/08/2008 at 17:08 You are in: Lincolnshire > People > Expats > St Lucia |
