Lincolnshire Buildings at Risk
Restoration banner.
Torksey Viaduct, Torksey
Torksey Viaduct.

Built in 1849 this is one of the earliest examples of a box girder bridge and was designed by John Fowler who went on to build the famous Severn Bridge. The main span was strengthened in 1897 but the bridge has been disused since the closure of the line in 1959.

If they get funding, Sustrans will restore it and make it part of the national cycle network and an attraction in its own right. "It's like an inland pier"
