East end lad Danny Dyer first found fame at the age of 14 appearing alongside Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect 3. It may sound unlikely of the star who often plays up to his Cockney wide boy reputation, but his big break came when he was spotted by an agent while at Sunday school.

The TV offers came flooding in after his impressive performance of rent boy Martin Fletcher in Prime Suspect, including appearances in British classics A Touch of Frost and Soldier Soldier. Next beckoned a film career, and roles in films such as Human Traffic, Mean Machine and The Football Factory have cemented Danny's reputation as one of the UK's favourite home-grown talents.

Proving he's up there alongside the most serious of actors, Danny's just finished a sold-out stint treading the boards in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming. He admitted he was keen for his spell in the West End to come to an end though - apparently he's sick of struggling to survive on the 300-a-week wages that the theatre role brings. Best stick to the movie roles then Danny...
