Florence and the Machine

Florence is a 21 year-old art college drop-out from South London. The Machine is whoever’s standing nearby playing an instrument at the time!

She got a taste for singing after joining her school choir. Although currently unsigned, she’s one of the most hyped new singer songwriters in the country, and recently performed at the South By Southwest music festival in the USA as part of the 'BBC Introducing Night', hosted by Steve Lamacq.

She’s been described as being ‘blessed with a jaw-dropping blues voice that seems impossible coming from one so young and so skinny.’ 2008 is set to be Florence's year.
