William Golding - Lord of the Flies
Dr Jane Mackay's interactive lecture series takes place on the last Thursday of every month on the Victoria Suite. The lectures take a look at the lives and influences of the chosen author with special reference to one of their works of literature. Places are limited so advance booking is recommended.

An epic story of eternal love. Together we follow the adventures of Arjumand and Khurram as they search for the blessing of the Empire for their undying love. Taj tells the poetic story of one man’s love for a princess, including great battles and family feuds and has consequences both in history and for our contemporary British Asian society.

The story unfolds as Khurram spends the last 22 years of his life building a tomb of love, the Taj Mahal.

Decorating the Caribbean Carnival Float
Get into the carnival spirit and help decorate a float for the parade. Learn to create masks and costumes to wear at the carnival. The theme is Masquerade. This event is part of Leicester's Caribbean Carnival.

Make a spectacular head dress to wear while you watch the Carnival procession, using a variety of materials including glitter, feathers, sequins and pom-poms. Also help make a giant mask for the museums' float. This event is part of Leicester's Caribbean carnival.
